Itsukushima Gate Up Close: Miyajima, Japan

This bridge was very high! It was blocked off so you can't try to walk over it, but even if it was open you would need to hang on to the rails to climb up it.

Too cute! A little boy taking a photo of his parents with their camera. He was asking his parents to move to get a good picture.

かわいい!この男の子は両親のカメラをつかって写真をとってます。

Japanese pine tree.

Walking on the sand you can see lots of tiny crab walking around and going into holes they dug. There were also a lot of tiny shells with snails(?) inside.

Itsukushima Shrine - A World Heritage Site: Miyajima, Japan

A sign marking this shrine as A World Heritage Site.

Another view of the torii gate.

A view of the pagoda from the shrine.

Looking through the shrine. The shrine's walkways are open to the elements.

The most popular spot to pose for pictures.

Inside the temple by Itsukushima Shrine: Hiroshima, Japan

I don't know why there are so many giant rice paddles here. I'm sure there is a special meaning, but I wasn't able to find out.

A Temple next to Itsukushima Shrine: Miyajiama, Japan

There are a lot of old art work hanging in this temple. A lot of them had something to do with horses.

Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima in Hiroshima, Japan

The deers are so used to people they feel safe enough to sleep close to people.
