Yamanashi, Japan: Lake Kawaguchi

I really did enjoy the views of Lake Kawaguchi and the mountains. I'm sure if you are lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji it would be even more amazing.

We stopped at Funatsuya for some Houto, which is a flat udon noodle in a hot pot. It has a miso flavored broth and is great on a cold day. If you are in the area I suggest you try eating Houto as it is famous in Yamanashi.

You can buy some great souvenirs on the first floor of the Funatsuya rest house. I will show you in the next post the kinako mochi that I bought as gifts and the Houto that I had a chance to eat!
