Welcome to Miyajima in Hiroshima, Japan

To get to Miyajima you have to take a ferry. It only takes about 15 minutes and there's a lovely view during the ferry ride.

Harvesting oysters.

Hello Miyajima, the island with Itsukushima Shrine one of the World Heritage Sites!

We went on April 14-15th and the Cherry Blossoms were in bloom! Also, the weather was perfect, sunny and warm with a cool breeze.

There are A LOT of deer on the island. They are not afraid of people and many people seem to like to pet them and take pictures with the.

Hiroshima, Japan: The View from the 21st Floor of the Sheraton Hotel

The view from our room was amazing! The city lights made for a nice night view.

Night view of the Hiroshima Baseball Stadium.

Hiroshima Stadium in the daylight. Go Carps!

We could see the water and the islands from our room.

The Sheraton is next to Hiroshima Station for the JR Shinkansen, but we couldn't hear it from our room!

JR 広島駅がすぐとなりにありましたが、電車のおとがきこえませんでした!

It looks like the city is flowing out of the mountains like a river of buildings....interesting.

The hotel room was very comfortable and came with many nice features including a big flat screen TV above the hidden mini bar.

 All free with the room!

It was a beautiful room and I would love to stay here again! It was very convenient and everyone was very friendly! Plus it came with a free breakfast buffet. They said it only has a limited selection (which gave us plenty of options) but if you want more then you can pay about 1,000 yen more at the other restaurant!

Street Performer on La Rambla street in Barcelona

There are many street performers on La Rambla street. This guy was great! When you toss a coin into his bucket he rides his bike and honks the horn.

His bicycle is connected to the skeletons bicycle so they move together.

La Rambla street at night. This is about 8 or 9 at night and there is so many people about.

 A plaza near our hotel.

One of my souvenirs from La Rambla street. A mosaic bull!

Barcelona, Spain: Sukaldari Restaurant

Near the Mercat La Bouqueria was a restaurant called Sukaldari restaurant. It was in our guide book, but our guide book was not lying when they said this restaurant was really good with nice waiters. Our waiter was willing to make recommendations for us and the service was pretty fast.

Of course, since I was in Spain I had to drink at least one glass of Sangria!

There was a bar where couples liked to sit. We would have except it was full.

Tapas! We really enjoyed the tapas and being able to go to the bar and look at the different dishes was fun.

This was our main dish of fish in a tomato sauce. It was good, but I have to say when you are drinking it is more interesting to have a variety of dishes instead of one main dish.

The salad was very simple. Again.....the tapas!
